The NYU Grossman School of Medicine Neuromuscular Medicine fellowship is a 1 year ACGME accredited training program in disorders of peripheral nerve, muscle, neuromuscular junction, and anterior horn cell. The NYU neuromuscular fellow will become adept at the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for adults and for children. Training includes extensive clinical exposure to patient care and to a broad range of electrodiagnostic (EMG) techniques in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. A large neuromuscular faculty provides training including genetic diagnostics and therapeutics, neuromuscular ultrasound, immunological treatments, nerve, muscle and skin neuropathology, and rehabilitation. Under faculty mentorship, the fellow is encouraged to participate in research projects. Funding is provided to attend a national meeting. Graduates will meet requirements to take certification examinations in Neuromuscular Medicine (ABPN) and in Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM).
