What is the Program?
The AANEM Recognition for EDX and NMUS Training in Existing Fellowship is not a standalone or ACGME-accredited fellowship. Instead, it is a recognition that can be added to existing accredited or non-accredited fellowships-such as those in, neurology, neuromuscular medicine, interventional spine, sports medicine, pain medicine, or spinal cord injury medicine.Purpose:
This program aims to formally recognize fellowships that provide comprehensive, quality training in EDX and NMUS, using a curriculum and evaluation process developed by AANEM.
Value:
AANEM recognition signals to fellows, employers, and the medical community that a program meets standards for training in electrodiagnostic medicine and neuromuscular ultrasound. It is distinct from ACGME accreditation and should be described as such in any and all institutional program materials.
Eligibility:
Any fellowship that is accredited or formally recognized by an established may apply.
Curriculum Standards:
Recognized programs must demonstrate the ability to provide adequate clinical and educational experiences in EDX and NMUS, including hands-on studies, lectures, workshops, case conferences, and journal clubs. Programs may utilize AANEM resources to fulfill educational objectives.

Recognition Period and Fee:
Recognition is granted for a 2-year term. The application fee is $250 for 2 years.
