The Mount Sinai Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship is approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Graduates of this program are eligible to pursue Neuromuscular Medicine subspecialty certification through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and electrodiagnostic certification through the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM).

Mount Sinai's Neuromuscular Fellowship offers outstanding clinical and procedural training in a high-volume tertiary care center with a diverse patient population and broad exposure to ALS, myasthenia gravis, neuropathy, plexopathy, myopathy, amyloidosis, and more. Fellows gain hands-on experience in NCS/EMG, single-fiber EMG, ultrasound, botulinum toxic injection, skin biopsy, and genetics testing, while participating in conferences, lectures, and resident and student teaching. The program also offers research and clinical trial opportunities, strong mentorship from expert faculty, and individualized educational growth. This is a dynamic fellowship for trainees seeking rigorous neuromuscular training in an academically rich environment.

The fellow will work with the neuromuscular team to learn all aspects of neuromuscular medicine, and will also participate in inpatient neuromuscular consultations. Fellows attend ALS clinic and monthly neurogenetics clinic.

Applicants are expected to have graduated from an ACGME accredited neurology residency program. Residents graduating from an ACGME accredited PMR program may be considered.

The program accepts 2 neuromuscular medicine fellows and 1 clinical neurophysiology-EMG track fellow each year.
