Accreditation Checklist

 

Exemplary Status

Accreditation with Exemplary status is the highest level of accreditation recognized by the AANEM. Exemplary status is granted to laboratories whose Lab Medical Director is certified by at least one of the following boards:

• American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM)
• American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in Clinical Neurophysiology or Neuromuscular Medicine
• American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (ABPMR) in Neuromuscular Medicine

* If the lab has co-medical directors, both must have at least one of the boards listed above.

Accreditation Fees

Laboratories will be assessed the following fees for the accreditation process:

• Accreditation Fee (1-3 physicians) - $1000
• Reaccreditation Fee - $750
• Fee for Each Physician over three - $200
• Fee per Satellite Laboratory - $200

Accreditation lasts for five years. No additional fees will be charged within the five year period. The Reaccreditation Fee is due at the time of reaccreditation. Additional physicians and satellite laboratory fees apply during both initial accreditation and reaccreditation.
