Volunteer Opportunities

Make an Impact With AANEM

Hundreds of NM and EDX experts volunteer their time and expertise to serve on a variety of AANEM committees and task forces each year. These volunteers make it possible for AANEM to achieve its mission to improve the quality of patient care and advance the science of NM diseases and EDX medicine.

Get involved this year to build meaningful connections with other members, immerse yourself in the latest science, and make an impact in the NM and EDX community.

Explore the committee brochure to learn more, and volunteer to join a group that fits your interests and experience.

AANEM Recognition for Fellowships Committee

As a member of the Recognition for Fellowship Committee, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring AANEM recognized fellowships provide comprehensive, high-quality training that benefits both practitioners and patients. Through these efforts, you’ll strengthen AANEM’s reputation for excellence in NM and EDX medicine education, while attracting and supporting the next generation of specialists.

Key Tasks:

• Review and evaluate fellowship applications for AANEM recognition.

• Make decisions on approving or denying applications based on established criteria.

• Update and refine the required components of the NM and EDX fellowship curriculum to maintain AANEM standards.

• Recommend changes to curriculum requirements based on evolving needs and practices.

• Provide reports on application outcomes and curriculum recommendations to the AANEM Board.

This committee meets yearly at the AANEM Annual Meeting. Additional commitment outside of the AANEM Annual Meeting is approximately 10-15 hours per year since this is a new program.

You will get opportunities to actively participate regardless of your institutional affiliation, academic rank, or career stage. When you join, do not hesitate to come forward with new ideas, or volunteer yourself for committee roles. You will be heard. You will be given an opportunity to thrive and give back.”

Elie Naddaf, MD

In an ever-changing world of medical practice–and especially when there are so many and so varied assaults on the quality of EDX medicine–I have found it rewarding to be a part of efforts and programs to meet these challenges. Being on committees and being involved in the AANEM helps me feel I am helping and a part of the solution.
