Volunteer Opportunities

Make an Impact With AANEM

Hundreds of NM and EDX experts volunteer their time and expertise to serve on a variety of AANEM committees and task forces each year. These volunteers make it possible for AANEM to achieve its mission to improve the quality of patient care and advance the science of NM diseases and EDX medicine.

Get involved this year to build meaningful connections with other members, immerse yourself in the latest science, and make an impact in the NM and EDX community.

Explore the committee brochure to learn more, and volunteer to join a group that fits your interests and experience.

ABEM Technologist Examination Committee

The ABEM Technologist Examination Committee is comprised of physicians and technologists to create and maintain the Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) examination, ensuring it reflects current practice standards. By supporting technologists in achieving professional certification, you will help enhance career opportunities and attract new technologists to AANEM.

Commitment:

Attendance at two mandatory in-person meetings each year:

Spring Meeting (typically held in April in conjunction with the AANEM Board of Directors meeting)

Fall Meeting (held during the AANEM Annual Meeting, typically in October or November)

Additional time commitment: 3–10 hours per year outside of the in-person meetings for exam item review and related tasks.

You will get opportunities to actively participate regardless of your institutional affiliation, academic rank, or career stage. Elie Naddaf, MD

In an ever-changing world of medical practice–and especially when there are so many and so varied assaults on the quality of EDX medicine–I have found it rewarding to be a part of efforts and programs to meet these challenges. Being on committees and being involved in the AANEM helps me feel I am helping and a part of the solution.
