MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship program is an ACGME-accredited program. We offer two funded positions for a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship beginning in July. Both fellows are eligible for board certification in Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Each year, typically one fellow is dedicated to the EMG/Neuromuscular track and one to the EEG/Epilepsy track. We are recruiting for the 2028-29 year for a Neuromuscular/EMG track fellow only. Interested fellows have the option for an additional second year of fellowship dedicated to research at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

Our EMG/Neuromuscular fellow follows a traditional Neuromuscular fellowship schedule, with flexibility to additionally train in other neurophysiologic procedures. Fellows participate in a multidisciplinary clinic for patients with chronic, complex neuromuscular conditions, learn the administration of new therapeutics, and are trained in routine and specialized neuromuscular procedures, including EMG/NCS, neuromuscular ultrasound, single-fiber EMG, and skin biopsy for small-fiber neuropathy. Depending on the fellow's interests, opportunities for further training in special procedures, such as ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injections, at the NIH are available. Fellows participate in a robust clinical trial program, receive regular didactics, and are involved in the education of medical students and residents.
