AANEM Seeking Early Career Speaker to Receive the 2020 Surinderjit Singh Young Lectureship Award

New for 2020, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) Annual Meeting plenary will include a speaker who is the winner of the Surinderjit Singh Young Lectureship Award. This lecture will honor long-time AANEM member Dr. Surinderjit Singh and be on the topic of Emerging Therapies in Neuromuscular Diseases, Dr. Yuen So’s plenary topic for 2020. 

2019 AANEM Annual Meeting: Funds Available for Physicians from Economically Developing Countries to Attend

The AANEM Foundation offers
International Fellowship Scholarship opportunities for up to 5 physicians from economically developing countries to attend the 2019 AANEM Annual Meeting to be held October 16-19, 2019, in Austin, Texas. Additionally, those who submit an application but do not receive a Foundation International Fellowship Scholarship are automatically considered for travel scholarships offered through the North American Chapter of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (IFCN). The IFCN distributes up to 15 scholarships.

AANEM Recognizes Katherine Clifford, BA, with the Golseth Young Investigator Award

AANEM is honoring Katherine Clifford, BA, with the 2018 Golseth Young Investigator Award for her abstract, Thymectomy is Not Associated With Clinical Improvement in a Multi-Center Cohort of Patients with Anti-MuSK Myasthenia Gravis.

2018 President’s Research Initiative Award Winners Focus on Precision Medicine in Neuromuscular and Musculoskeletal Medicine

For the 2018 annual meeting of the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM), more than 200 research abstracts were submitted on various topics related to neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine. However, each year, special recognition is awarded to the authors of the best research abstracts (up to 10 abstracts) submitted on the AANEM President’s chosen topic. For 2018, Eric J. Sorenson, MD, AANEM President, focused his research initiative on “Precision Medicine in Neuromuscular and Musculoskeletal Medicine.”
