AANEM Recognition for EDX and NMUS Training in Existing Fellowship

Empower your fellowship program and your trainees with the AANEM Recognition for EDX and NMUS Training in Existing Fellowship. This recognition highlights existing fellowship programs that meet AANEM’s educational standards in NMUS and EDX medicine.

Program Overview

What is the Program?
The AANEM Recognition for EDX and NMUS Training in Existing Fellowship is not a standalone or ACGME-accredited fellowship. Instead, it is a recognition that can be added to existing accredited or non-accredited fellowships-such as those in neurology, NM medicine, interventional spine, sports medicine, pain medicine, or spinal cord injury medicine.

Purpose:
This program aims to formally recognize fellowships that provide comprehensive, quality training in EDX and NMUS, using a curriculum and evaluation process developed by AANEM.

Value:
AANEM recognition signals to fellows, employers, and the medical community that a program meets standards for training in EDX medicine and NMUS. It is distinct from ACGME accreditation and should be described as such in any and all institutional program materials.

Eligibility:
Any fellowship that is accredited or formally recognized by an establishment may apply.

Curriculum Standards:
Recognized programs must demonstrate the ability to provide adequate clinical and educational experiences in EDX and NMUS, including hands-on studies, lectures, workshops, case conferences, and journal clubs. Programs may utilize AANEM resources to fulfill educational objectives.

Application and Review:
Programs are evaluated by the AANEM Recognition for Fellowship Committee, which reviews applications and ensures that curriculum requirements are offered. You can review the application materials to ensure you have all the required information and documents ready before starting the online submission.

Recognition Period and Fee:
Recognition is granted for a 2-year term. The application fee is $250 for 2 years.
