With regard to residency and fellowship training, LVHN currently sponsors 34 various residency and fellowship programs, consisting of a total of 321 residents (including interns and fellows). With regard to medical student education, LVHN is a partner with the University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine, providing an advanced innovative medical school training program.

The LVHN Department of Neurology includes a Level III Epilepsy Center, the Neuromuscular and ALS Center for Comprehensive Care (an ALS Association Recognized Treatment Center), certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, mobile stroke unit (the first of its kind in the state), and designated Center of Excellence for Comprehensive MS Care, amongst other distinguished subspecialty divisions.

LVHN provides additional extensive neurological diagnostic services including: electroencephalography (EEG), video EEG, evoked potential studies, nerve conduction studies and electromyography (NCS/EMG) including single fiber EMG and repetitive nerve stimulation, neuromuscular ultrasound, skin biopsies, muscle and nerve biopsies, and neuropsychological testing, among other offerings. The advanced neurophysiology suite in the Diagnostic Care Center at LVHN is comprised of 7 rooms equipped for NCS/EMG and EEG testing. There are 11 portable EEG machines available for outpatient and inpatient routine and long term monitoring studies with video capabilities. There are 5 portable EMG machines utilized for inpatient and outpatient studies. The Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital has a dedicated pediatric neurology team comprised of 4 physicians who offer additional expertise in clinical neurophysiology unique to the pediatric population.
The Children’s Hospital is the region’s only institutional member of the Children’s Hospital Association along with employing the area’s only board-certified pediatric surgeons. LVHN rehabilitation centers offer a wide variety of rehabilitation programs at five state-of-the-art inpatient facilities and many outpatient sites, helping patients reach their highest level of independence. LVHN opened an inpatient rehabilitation facility attached to the main hospital for adults 18 years and older in June of 2015. The 34-private bed facility occupies 2 floors and allows LVHN to continue to provide short-term intensive rehabilitation to ensure a seamless continuum of care for patients.

In the Center of Advanced Health Care building located on campus at LVHN, there is a large outpatient Neurology office, which employs 23 neurologists with multidisciplinary subspecialty training and certification, 2 of whom are board-certified in epilepsy and 3 board-certified in clinical neurophysiology, as well as 15 advanced practice clinicians and 2 neuropsychologists. The team utilizes 22 exam rooms, a 3 bay procedure room, a patient group visit room, two conference rooms (one equipped with advanced telecommunication capabilities), a residents’ room (with space for each resident and their computers, books, and belongings), a designated fellows’ room (with a computer and room for their books and belongings), an EEG reading room, a telemedicine room, and clinical team rooms. This is the site for both the fellows’ and neurology residents’ continuity clinics and subspecialty clinic rotations.
