Considering: Only Neurology Candidates

3 Letters of Recommendation requested for applying

The WUSM Neuromuscular Pathology fellowship is a non-ACGME fellowship focused on neuromuscular pathology and neuromuscular lab medicine. Ideal candidates will have some prior fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine and be interested in an additional year of training focused on broadening their experience and expertise in nerve and muscle pathology. Neurology/neuromuscular trained candidates will have a minimum of a half day of neuromuscular outpatient clinic. While not the focus of this fellowship, individuals with experience in electrodiagnostic medicine and neuromuscular ultrasound can allocate some of their time during the training year to maintain these skill sets for future practice. The majority of the time will be spent in the WUSM clinical neuromuscular lab, primarily working with 2-3 faculty focused on nerve, muscle and skin pathology, neuromuscular autoantibody testing, and biomarker testing. Fellows will have additional time allocated towards at least one academic project with a goal of publication prior to the end of the fellowship. There is a robust curriculum in place focused on neuromuscular pathology, embedded within a large neuromuscular section of 16 faculty with interests that cover the entire scope of neuromuscular medicine, with many of the neuromuscular faculty engaged in the basic and translational sciences. There are two weekly pathology sessions, in addition to a weekly pathology signout, a weekly lab meeting and a weekly neuromuscular journal club. We are looking for candidates for a start date of 7/1/26.
