The Neuromuscular Medicine or Clinical Neurophysiology/EMG Fellowships at BIDMC/Harvard Medical School offer extensive training in performance and interpretation of electrodiagnostic studies (EMG), as well as the evaluation and management of patients with neuromuscular disorders. In addition to EMG and neuromuscular clinic sessions, neuromuscular fellows attend one half-day per week at the pediatric Neuromuscular/MDA clinic at Boston Children’s Hospital. CNP fellows have a half-day of additional learning in additional neurophysiologic techniques such as EEG. Fellows attend weekly neuromuscular and clinical neurophysiology educational conferences and participate in the multidisciplinary Motor Neuron Disorders clinic. Clinical and translational research projects are strongly encouraged. Fellows who successfully complete this fellowship are eligible for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Subspecialty qualification in Neuromuscular Medicine or Clinical Neurophysiology.
A total of three fellows are chosen each year; prospective fellows may apply to BIDMCs fellowship program through either CNP or Neuromuscular subspecialty in the AANEM portal. We will be utilizing a single rank list with applicants from both programs. Applicants will have the option to make their final decision about which program they wish to pursue (CNP or NM) after matching at BIDMC.
