New Patient Resource: Help Your Patients Navigate Healthcare Costs

AANEM’s Health Policy team, in collaboration with the Quality and Patient Safety Committee, has developed a Navigating Healthcare Costs brochure to support patients facing financial barriers to neuromuscular care.

This free, printable resource brings together trusted tools to help patients:

• Estimate the cost of care (hospital, outpatient, and procedure pricing tools)
• Save on prescriptions through pharmacy price-comparison and discount programs
• Access financial assistance for copays, deductibles, testing, and treatment
• Find disease-specific patient organizations and rare-disease support networks
• Arrange transportation for non-emergency medical visits
• Connect with local navigators for help with food, housing, and other social needs

The brochure is designed to be easy for clinicians to share directly with patients at the point of care or after a visit and is available for free download in the AANEM Learning Center.
