AANEM Publishes New Statement on Environmental Awareness in Electrodiagnostic Medicine

AANEM’s Professional Practice Committee (PPC) recently published a new position statement on the growing importance of environmental awareness and stewardship in the practice of neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic (EDX) medicine. The statement provides a brief overview of some of the environmental concerns present in EDX medicine and lays out some key principles and benefits that both providers and institutions should be mindful in their practices. When asked about the impetus for this project, Zainab Al-Lawati, MD, the current chair of the PPC, responded, “Taking care of the Earth is not a choice, it's a responsibility. And together, we can create a sustainable future for all."
