About the Position:

The Meeting Project Coordinator is a key member of our team. You must be detail oriented and customer service-focused. You will interact with physicians and other health professionals to help plan educational events, handle submission of research for a poster hall, and assist in other areas of this growing organization. You will develop valuable relationships with our members and travel with our team to our annual meeting to oversee the assigned activities.

The ANF is dedicated to funding neuromuscular research and promising researchers through grants, awards, and fellowships. The ANF is affiliated with the AANEM. All AANEM staff work on behalf of both the AANEM and the ANF.

Computer Skills Needed:

  • Excellent Excel skills required including the ability to do the following:
  • Basic Formulas: Using basic functions like SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, and COUNT to perform common calculations.
  • Cell Formatting: Applying formatting options like bold, italics, cell color, borders, and number formats (currency, percentage, etc.),
  • Sorting and Filtering Data: Organizing data by sorting columns (A-Z, Z-A, or custom sorts) and using filters to view specific information.
  • Freeze Panes and Splitting Screens: Keeping headers or specific rows/columns visible while scrolling through large datasets.
  • Printing and Page Setup: Adjusting page setup options for print layouts, including print area, margins, headers/footers, and scaling options to fit data onto pages.
  • Find, Replace, Cut and Paste: Quickly locating data with Find/Replace and navigating efficiently using shortcuts (Ctrl+C, V).
  • Removing Duplicates and Text to columns: Identifying and removing duplicate entries from datasets and splitting data from one column into multiple columns
  • Basic Data Cleaning: Removing extra spaces, formatting text (UPPER, LOWER, PROPER), and using TRIM and CLEAN functions.
  • Excellent Word skills required including the ability to do the following:
  • Basic Formatting: Applying font styles, colors, and sizes; using bold, italics, underline; adjusting line spacing, and setting paragraph alignment.
  • Page Layout and Margins: Setting up margins, orientation (portrait/landscape), and page size; using layout tools to adjust document spacing and appearance.
  • Tables: Inserting tables, adjusting row/column sizes, merging/splitting cells, and formatting tables with styles to organize data neatly.
  • Bulleted and Numbered Lists: Creating and customizing bullet points and numbered lists, including multilevel lists for outlines.
  • Inserting and Formatting Images: Adding pictures or graphics, resizing, positioning, wrapping text around images, and using picture tools to adjust appearance.
  • Find and Replace: Using the Find function to locate specific text and Replace to make bulk edits, saving time when editing documents.
  • Using Track Changes and Comments: Enabling Track Changes for collaborative editing, reviewing changes, and adding/removing comments for team communication.
  • Mail Merge – selecting excel list, inserting merge fields, preview and completing the merge
  • Inserting Hyperlinks and Bookmarks: Adding hyperlinks to external websites or internal bookmarks, making navigation easier within documents.
  • Section Breaks: Creating and managing section breaks for different layouts within the same document, like changing headers, footers, or page orientation partway through.
  • Excellent Adobe skills required including the ability to do the following:
  • Creating PDFs: Converting documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and images into PDF format and combining multiple files into a single PDF.
  • Editing Text and Images in PDFs: Using the Edit PDF tool to modify text, replace images, and adjust formatting within an existing PDF.
  • Using Comments and Markups: Adding comments, highlights, and annotations to a PDF, and using markups like strikethrough, underline, and drawing tools for collaborative editing.
  • Form Creation and Editing: Creating fillable forms by adding text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, drop-down lists, and signatures, and setting up form field properties like required fields and validation.
  • Organizing PDF Pages: Rearranging, rotating, deleting, and inserting pages within a PDF document for effective organization.
  • Creating Bookmarks and Links: Adding bookmarks for easy navigation within a PDF and inserting links to pages, websites, or external files.
  • Exporting and Converting PDFs: Converting PDFs back into other formats, like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, while maintaining formatting.
  • Combining Files and Splitting PDFs: Merging multiple files into a single PDF or splitting a PDF into separate documents based on page range or bookmarks
