Director of Marketing

Help Shape the Future of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine

The American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) is seeking a Marketing Director to lead organization-wide marketing and communications for both AANEM and its philanthropic partner, the American Neuromuscular Foundation (ANF).

This is a high-impact leadership role that will define how both organizations share their mission, programs, and impact with physicians, researchers, trainees, donors, and partners. You’ll oversees marketing strategy across the full range of organizational activities — including education, certification, research and scholarship programs, philanthropy, advocacy and public policy outreach, and membership engagement.

The person in this role ensures that AANEM and ANF programs are clearly communicated, well understood, and effectively promoted to the audiences they serve. This includes building consistent branding, guiding digital platforms, CRM-driven engagement, and communications strategy, and leading a collaborative marketing team that works across departments to support organizational priorities.

In this role, you will:

Set and lead marketing and brand strategy for AANEM and ANF

Partner across departments to develop campaigns and digital, CRM-driven outreach

Use data and feedback to strengthen engagement and participation

Mentor and develop a collaborative marketing team

AANEM is the trusted leader for the physicians and other allied health professionals that diagnosis and treat patients with neuromuscular diseases such as ALS and muscular dystrophy. The AANEM serves more than 8500 members in the US and around the world. We have been in business since 1953 and have grown steadily to be a multi million dollar nonprofit that provides amazing education, practice guidelines and position statements, certification, laboratory accreditation, and advocacy for the field. The ANF is dedicated to funding neuromuscular research and promising researchers through grants, awards, and fellowships. The ANF is also working to grow the pipeline of NM physicians through scholarship programs. It is an exciting time to be part of the ANF as it has begun several new initiatives to shorten the time to diagnosis for patients and increase its fundraising.

The ANF is affiliated with the AANEM. All AANEM staff work on behalf of both the AANEM and the ANF.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to think strategically and lead organization-wide marketing initiatives.

Proven success developing and executing marketing strategies that drive growth, engagement, and participation across multiple programs or audiences.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with members, volunteer leaders, committees, and senior staff.

Strong project management and analytical skills, including the ability to measure performance and refine initiatives using data.

Proficiency with digital platforms, CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and engagement analytics.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

5 or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in marketing, digital strategy, analytics, content development, and team leadership.

Experience in healthcare, professional associations, nonprofit, or medical education environments preferred.

Some travel is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
