CEU Qualifications
If your Technologist Maintenance of Certification Program (TMOCP) requirements obligate you to complete 30 CEUs, you must do so over your 5 year cycle. The credits submitted must be related to the performance of NCSs and not other neurodiagnostic techniques unrelated to NCSs, such as electroencephalogram (EEG), intraoperative neuromonitoring (IOM), or polysomnograms (PSG). In addition, they must be completed under the following requirements:

10 of the 30 CEUs may be from within your own institution
- Institutional courses led by an ABEM Diplomate are accepted without preapproval; otherwise, preapproval is required by the ABEM.

20 of the 30 CEUs must be from external sources
- AANEM, AAET, ASET, AAN, AAPMR, ACNS, and state END society credits are accepted without preapproval; other sources require preapproval by the ABEM.
- Credits can be earned online or at in-person sessions.

5 of the 30 CEUs may be credits for being a speaker
- Speaker credits at an AANEM, ASET, or AAET session on NCSs are accepted without preapproval; Other sessions require preapproval by the ABEM.
- Speaker credits are given as 1 credit per hour-long session.
