Certification Requirements

To receive the CNCT certification/registry, you need to fulfill all of the items of either Option 1 or Option 2 below, prior to the application deadline.

Option 1

  • Completion of at least 12 months of full-time (or equivalent), practical, on-the-job training in nerve conduction studies (NCSs). This period of training must be performed under the direct supervision of a neurologist or physiatrist experienced in electrodiagnostic (EDX) medicine, preferably an ABEM Diplomate.
  • Additionally, you must have experienced a minimum of 250 patient encounters where NCSs were performed on separate occasions.  Please provide the name and email for the physician whom you worked with for these studies.  A case log is not required.

Option 2

  • Successful completion of an END/Neurodiagnostic Technologist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

  • Additionally, you must have experienced 100 patient encounters after program completion under the direct supervision of a neurologist or physiatrist experienced in electrodiagnostic (EDX) medicine, preferably an ABEM Diplomate. Please provide the name and email address for the physician whom you worked with for these studies.  A case log is not required.
