The Neuromuscular Ultrasound (NMUS) Certificate of Added Qualification is an exam administered online. Candidates can take the exam at any quiet location. The exam uses an artificial intelligence (AI) online proctor that will require candidates to have a webcam on their computer or and add on webcam (webcam is not provided by ABEM).

You will be given 2 hours to answer approximately 100 questions. More information is available on the Exam Content page.

Prior to the computer-based exam, a detailed analysis of individual questions is performed and a minimum passing score established. After completion of the exam, candidates will receive an email from the AANEM office notifying them whether they passed or failed the examination.

No other information about the exam, exam results, or performance on subsections of the exam will be made available to the candidates.
