Accreditation Expands EnternationallyEDX Laboratory Accreditation

The AANEM Board of Directors recently approved the expansion of the Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Laboratory Accreditation Program to two new categories of applicants:
  • Laboratories owned by the United States government but located abroad and
  • Laboratories located in Canada.
Previously, accreditation applications were only accepted from labs located in the U.S.

“I invite EDX labs from qualified locations abroad to learn about the accreditation program and how it can benefit their patients, referral partners, and practice,” said Peter Q. Warinner, MD, committee chair.

Currently, there are 147 accredited laboratories found in 40 U.S. states. The accreditation process is voluntary and peer-reviewed. It strives to identify and acknowledge EDX laboratories that achieve and maintain the highest levels of quality, performance, and integrity based on professional standards. The AANEM EDX Laboratory Accreditation Program is the only accreditation entity specifically designed for EDX laboratories.
