Physicians, it’s time to access your confidential Medicare feedback reports, called Quality and Resource Use Reports (QRUR). In early September, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will make QRURs available based on care provided in 2013 to all groups and solo practitioners.
The reports detail how the cost and quality of care physicians provide to their Medicare patients compares to that of other physicians. This information is based on the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) quality measures. In addition, physicians in groups of 100 or more can find out whether their practice will be affected by the new Value Based Modifier (VBM), and smaller practices can preview how they might fare as the VBM is phased in for all group sizes over the next three years.
Access to your report requires a user ID and password for the “Individuals Authorized Access” (IACs) to the CMS computer services. If you do not already have a username and password for CMS’s IACs, please access that information
here.
Further information about QRURs and the VBM can be found on
CMS’s website.
