AANEM Welcomes New President Dr. Vern Juel

The American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) is pleased to announce the selection of Vern C. Juel, MD, as the 2015-16 president.

Remembering Margarete Di Benedetto

AANEM mourns the passing of Col. (ret.) Margarete Di Benedetto, MD, an AANEM member since 1969. Di Benedetto died on July 25, 2015, at the age of 89. Born in Alt Dobern, Germany, she attended school and was educated as a physician in Germany. After moving to the United States, she worked as an ABEM certified doctor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Kathy Smith Retires After 27 Years

In 1987, attendees at the San Antonio annual meeting of the American Association of Electromyography & Electrodiagnosis’ (AAEE, AANEM’s predecessor) were introduced to a new Meeting Manager, Kathy Smith. Twenty-seven years and 27 annual meetings later, Kathy has announced her retirement, effective December 12, 2014.
