Inviting Neuromuscular Research Proposals

2/11/2015

The AANEM Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to fund neuromuscular or electrodiagnostic research. The goal of the partnership is to help young investigators develop scientifically rigorous yet practical clinical trial protocols and to provide a potential $100,000 funding opportunity through the AANEM Foundation for a neuromuscular or electrodiagnostic research grant ($50,000 per year for two years).

Research grant applications will be accepted by the AANEM Foundation from participants who complete the National Institute of Neurological Disorders (NINDS) Clinical Trials Methodology Course (CTMC).  The AANEM Foundation’s Research Committee and Board of Directors will review the applications and make selections based on the quality of the proposals received.   “Through this partnership with the NIH, the AANEM Foundation is able to encourage the development of young investigators through the established CTMC course and increase the funding opportunities for quality neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic research,” stated Foundation President Vince Tranchitella, MD.

To Apply
  1. Complete the CTMC and application process here. Deadline: February 28, 2015
  2. Submit your research proposal to the AANEM Foundation via email at foundation@aanem.org. Deadline: October 1, 2015
