AANEM Welcomes New President Dr. Vince Tranchitella

11/5/2014

The American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) is pleased to announce the selection of Vincent J. Tranchitella, MD, to lead the organization in 2014-15 as its new president.

Dr. Tranchitella is a partner at Electrodiagnostic Medicine Group, Ltd., in York, PA. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and his laboratory is the first in Pennsylvania to achieve accreditation with exemplary status through the AANEM EDX Laboratory Accreditation program. Dr. Tranchitella has served on numerous AANEM committees since becoming a member in 1993.

“I look forward to being able to serve this great organization in this capacity,” said Dr. Tranchitella. “The field of medicine is in a state of flux, and the AANEM has always done an admirable job in educating and advocating for its members so that they can better adapt to these changes. In addition to maintaining these traditions, I hope to continue to innovate on behalf of our members and advocate on behalf of all the patients we serve.”

AANEM Executive Director Shirlyn Adkins added, “Dr. Tranchitella has been a tireless advocate for neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic providers and patients throughout his career. As AANEM President, he will continue to advance the quality work of our members and build awareness of the field."

Dr. Tranchitella replaces Francis O. Walker, MD, who completed his term on October 31, 2014.
