The AANEM State Liaison Program is a network of physicians that actively communicate concerns to external stakeholders and key decision makers regarding quality neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine. Each state liaison networks and educates medical directors, claims adjusters, nurse reviewers, and their peers about the importance of quality patient care. In addition, state liaisons work on building relationships with their state and federal legislators, as well as other key public officials, to educate them on issues affecting the practice of medine.
Participants chosen for the State Liaison Program attend a full-day training event and:
Learn about the importance of physician involvement in payer relations.
Discuss the reimbursement issues facing neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine physicians.
Learn how to be an advocate for your profession, including how to build relationships with elected officials.
Become familiar with AANEM resources that are available to educate key decision makers about quality neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine.
