Training Programs

The AANEM SAEs provide you with an opportunity to compare the knowledge of your residents and fellows with others throughout the country. Both examinations are given as proctored examinations each May.

Please review the instructions for the paperless system prior to registering.

EDX SAE
Early Registration Deadline  March 19           Cost: $99
Registration Deadline April 15                   Cost: $149


NM SAE
Early Registration Deadline  March 19           Cost: $70
Registration Deadline April 15                   Cost: $120

Cancellations/Refund Policy
Prior to April 15:  $50 cancellation fee for EDX SAE and $35 for the NM SAE
April 15 or after:  No refunds


Training Program Liaisons

Training Program Liaisons are appointed at each cooperating institution. Their responsibilities are to:

  • Keep their Department Chairs informed about the SAE, its schedule, content, and cost.
  • Arrange for proctoring of the SAE when administered.
  • Hold a review session led by a competent electrodiagnostic medicine consultant, preferably an ABEM Diplomate.
  • Submit suggested multiple-choice questions and pertinent videotape waveforms for the examinations question bank.
  • Act as contacts for AANEM surveys of teaching practices, research activities, and relevant issues.
  • Encourage active participation in the AANEM.
  • Act as resources for communicating AANEM information to department members.
