This fellowship has been accredited by the ACGME, and fellows who successfully complete it are eligible to take the Added Qualification in Clinical Neurophysiology Exam offered by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. The fellowship time may be divided equally among EEG/Epilepsy and EMG/Neuromuscular disorders, or the fellow may spend nine months with one subspecialty, and three months with the other. Our laboratory is located in a large tertiary referral hospital and state of the art equipment is available. In addition to training in EEG and EMG, fellows are instructed in evoked potentials, intraoperative monitoring, long term video/EEG seizure monitoring, and, if interested, polysomnography. Fellows see a wide range of patients, and there are busy adult and pediatric seizure clinics, neuromuscular clinics, and a Muscular Dystrophy Association clinic. There is a wide range of opportunities for clinical and basic science research, including investigational drug trials.
