In addition to routine electrodiagnostic studies we perform repetitive stimulation, somatosensory evoked potentials, motor point, and single fiber EMG testing. The fellow would also rotate intraoperatively to observe monitoring of brachial plexus and spinal cord injury surgery at Texas Children's Hospital. Research is clinically oriented. We have weekly core journal club presentations as well as monthly current journal club presentations. We offer an ACGME-accredited training in clinical neurophysiology.   A primary EMG or EEG track can be chosen, each consisting of a different volume of exposure to the rotations listed below.   The EMG rotation consists of performing EMG's daily, participation in biweekly muscle/nerve biopsy conferences and journal club, and neuromuscular clinics.   EMG referrals (950 EMG studies per year) are seen at the Neuromuscular Clinic, Memorial Hermann Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Shriner's Hospital (2nd and 4th Tuesday afternoon).   Additionally, there are 1-2 clinical neurophysiology lecturers per week, the fellow evaluates neuromuscular clinic patients at the Neurology Clinic under the supervision of neuromuscular faculty. The EEG rotation consists of daily interpretation of EEGs and Evoked potential studies and weekly epilepsy conference.   All activities are at the Memorial Hermann Hospital (2900 EEG's per year).   In addition, fellows on the EEG track perform EEG video monitoring at the Epilepsy monitoring Unit (2000 video EEGs per year) which includes weekly epilepsy clinic.   Interested applicants should send their curriculum vitae and three letters of recommendation to the Program Director.
