Meeting Your MOC

Meeting your primary board’s maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements can be a challenge. That is why AANEM has developed products that fulfill those requirements. AANEM's education staff works with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) to record MOC credits you earn through AANEM.

Self-Assessment Examinations

The AANEM's self-assessment examinations meet MOC requirements for ABPN and ABPMR. The Electrodiagnostic Self-Assessment Examination (EDXSAE), Neuromuscular Self-Assessment Examination (NMSAE), and other SAEs make excellent study guides and self-assessment tools.

Performance in Practice Modules

AANEM Performance in Practice (PIP) activities are pre-packaged modules that guide you through a long-term quality improvement exercise applicable to your practice. Designed to help you meet Part IV Performance Improvement MOC requirements for both ABPN and ABPMR, PIPs show that physicians are able to evaluate their patient care practices, appraise and assimilate scientific evidence and improve performance. AANEM PIPs include two modules—a Clinical Module and a Feedback Module—each module is structured into three stages and the clinical module is designated for up to 20 CME. The AANEM requires a PIP implementation period of at least 30 days for each module completed.
