The following laboratories have achieved accreditation through the AANEM. The AANEM Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Laboratory Accreditation Program is a voluntary, peer review process that identifies and acknowledges EDX laboratories that achieve and maintain the highest level of quality, performance, and integrity based on professional standards.
Accreditation provides laboratories specializing in EDX medicine with a structured mechanism to assess, evaluate, and improve the quality of care provided to their patients.
Accreditation with Exemplary Status is the highest level of accreditation given by the AANEM. To be eligible for Accreditation with Exemplary Status all of the neurologists and physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians performing studies in the laboratory must receive special training in EDX medicine and be certified by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine or by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in clinical neurophysiology or neuromuscular medicine. As of September 2013, the AANEM has a total of 154 Accredited Laboratories in 40 states.
